Mulled Wine

In recent preperation for a party being hosted, we made some mulled wine to ring in fall - and with Thanksgiving quickly approaching this recipe from GimmeSomeOven will be sure to keep everyone warm and cozy when they arrive for a meal together.

If we can offer any advice in preperation for a party, the little touches are our favorite, but making hosting look effortless is the special sauce! Today's effortless hosting trick is to pregarnish your glasses. Picture two pitchers with signs for designating what was what (hot cider and mulled wine), glasses pregarnished, just waiting to be poured and enjoyed. Can you say 'two birds one stone,' when the same glass and garnish can work for two drinks!?

A few tricks to mulled wine:

  • Expensive wine isn't a must, pick your favorite dry red or red blend

  • When garnishing with apples, slicing the apple at an angle helps highlight the star core and tossing them in lemon juice helps avoid browing

  • A few tablespoons of honey in your batch can sweeten up your recipe, if your prefer

Enjoy!
